About the Author
J. Mark Beach is an Associate Pastor at Redeemer United Reformed Church in Dyer, Indiana. He also serves as Professor of Ministerial and Doctrinal Studies, and Dean of Students at Mid-America Reformed Seminary.

Great summary of the Institutes

I am using this book for a second time in an upper division theology class at a Christian university. I have students read a chapter and then give a quiz over the material.
I find that these chapters catch the big ideas and present them in an understandable way. These readings are a bit tough for juniors and seniors, but that's a good thing. Calvin shouldn't be too easy, right?
I would have given five stars if the writing had been broadened a bit more. My students are able to follow the ideas, but it hasn't made them fall in love with Calvin.
In sum, if you are looking for a book that helps you understand The Institutes more, this is a great place to start.

An in-depth, but easy to read book on Calvin's Institutes. Love the questions at the end of each chapter which is helpful to use as a Sunday school class or Bible study group.
